Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Expected To Be Announced On August 16 To Tackle Mid-Ranged Mobile Market
Now that we have covered sufficient amount of news pieces for the higher tier smartphone market, let us place our attention to the more affordable side of the market with Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Despite the fact that Redmi Note 2 will be targeted to the middle smartphone market, the handset is no slouch when it comes to performance. Consumers looking to own an affordable smartphone will not have to wait any longer since the announcement of the handset is expected to be August 16.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Will Come In Two Variants; An MT6795 And A Snapdragon 615 Model
According to Mobipicker, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could be announced on the aforementioned date, which is only three days ahead of Samsung’s August 13th event. Coming to the hardware specifications of Redmi Note 2, we expect that the handset is going to be shipped out in two variants; an MT6795 and a Snapdragon 615 variant.
On a personal note, on pure performance terms, we will immediately be compelled to purchase the MT6795 SoC model, since Snapdragon 615 comes nowhere close to the performance level of MediaTek’s chipset.
Additionally, we should also expect 2 GB of RAM to be present in the handset. As for the screen size and resolution, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will feature a 5.5 inch screen that will render a 1080p resolution. Thanks to its larger form factor, we could be seeing a 3,020 mAh battery present in it as well. A 13 MP/5 MP camera sensor combination will provide satisfactory image snapping quality and we also expect the handset to feature 16 GB of on-board expandable storage.
Since the device is going to target the mid-ranged smartphone market, we should expect a price tag of less than $200. As for which model we would purchase, we would definitely settle for MT6795. Qualcomm has disappointed consumers and its corporate clients lately, and we don’t want to be a part of that circle anytime soon. Looks like we are going to have to wait for Redmi Note 2 to be unveiled on that aforementioned date. Are you guys excited for the launch? Let us know your thoughts.
