Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 Is Official – Comes With 10GB RAM, 5G Connectivity, Sliding Camera, and a 93% Screen-to-Body Ratio
After a torrent of leaks and rumors, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is official, with its design being very similar to the OPPO Find X. Sure enough, it holds a flagship smartphone status, and just like the Black Shark Helo, it can be configured up to 10GB RAM. There are a lot of interesting things about the latest premium offering, and its internals is just a taste. Let us talk about the Mi MIX 3 in thorough detail so you guys can know if this is going to be your daily driver or not.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is the first flagship from this series to feature an AMOLED screen. Its display size is 6.4 inches, and the resolution measures 2,304 x 1,080 pixels. There is no notch, and that is the reason the flagship boasts a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. Despite the fact that the smartphone features an AMOLED screen, it does not feature an in-screen fingerprint reader. Instead of going with a motorized pop-up camera or a motorized front bezel, the Mi MIX 3 has a magnetic manual slider.
Xiaomi claims that it has gone with this approach to take the place of a customizable shortcut action for many tasks. Users can use it to take a self-portrait, open the app drawer, make a call, and do several other tasks by sliding up the slider. Also, the Chinese manufacturer claims that the slider is expected to last up to 300,000 cycles, so you’ll probably be looking for a different phone by then.
The Mi MIX 3 is armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, with the base model offering 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also an 8GB RAM version that offers up to 256GB of onboard memory. Finally, you have the 10GB RAM model, which offers 256GB of memory. Do keep in mind that the flagship does not offer an expandable storage slot, and it does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack either. It does have a Type-C USB to 3.5mm audio jack adapter.
Xiaomi has unveiled a 5G variant of the Mi MIX 3, but the company claims that it will be arriving early next year. Xiaomi has not given an exact time frame, but we’ll continue to update you in the long run.
The Mi MIX 3 comes with a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, F/1.8 aperture, with support for OIS. There is also a 12MP secondary telephoto lens that offers 2x optical zoom. Unfortunately, video recording from the primary camera is limited to 30FPS, though that limit can be increased to 60FPS via software update. slow-motion video recording is upped to 960FPS, along with Night Mode, and AI scene detection. The front side also houses a dual-camera, with the primary one being a 24MP sensor, which is supplemented by a 2MP depth sensor.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 comes with a 3,850mAh battery, but considering its size, the company should have incorporated a bigger 4,000mAh cell. However, the saving grace is that the flagship comes with 10-watt wireless charging, with the Qi wireless charging pad shipping with the smartphone’s bundling.
