Samsung is gearing up for its Galaxy Unpacked event 2024, which is happening today in Paris, France. We expect a plethora of devices to be unveiled today, along with the advanced AI capabilities incorporated this time around. The company will reveal the next-generation foldable and other product category upgrades, such as the new wearable and wireless earbuds. Today, we will highlight everything we can expect at the big event, which will take place in a few hours.
Samsung would be showcasing its Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy Buds, and more
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 will be released today, along with many other significant upgrades. The foldable will sport a revamped design with a boxier look and sharper edges. Given the advanced AI features added to the foldable, the series will come with a hefty price tag. The chipset powering the devices will be Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, just like S24 in terms of a powerful processor.
Galaxy Z Fold 6
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 would have a cover display of 6.3 inches and an inner AMOLED 2X display of 7.6 inches. The camera setup follows the same pattern as the previous model, but the new fold model would be lighter and thinner than its predecessor and come with a wider aspect ratio of 22:9 for its external display. We could also see the foldable with a brighter screen to improve display visibility.
Galaxy Z Flip 6
The Z Flip 6, on the other hand, will have a relatively larger cover display than the Z Flip 5, sporting a 3.9-inch screen and an improved hinge mechanism for better durability. The new Flip model will also boast a higher RAM capacity of up to 12GB than its predecessor, which had an 8GB RAM count. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have a 4,000 mAh battery capacity, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 50MP primary camera.
Galaxy Watch 7
The wearable segment will involve the roll-out of the next-generation Galaxy smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 7 will significantly improve performance as it is the first product powered by the Exynos W1000, a 3nm chip. We could see new color options with the Watch 7, like an olive green color added to the existing set of colors. Compared to the Watch 6, the Watch 7 would have a notably larger storage space, up to 32GB.
Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra
The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is headed for a completely fresh look, going for a squarish design and titanium build that attempts to match up with the Apple Watch Ultra. The Ultra series would be sporting a blended look with a square-like outer frame while maintaining the classic round design for the display. We also expect the inclusion of a third button that will be placed between the two classic ones.
Galaxy Ring
One of the most anticipated products this year is Samsung's first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, which will feature advanced health-tracking capabilities and AI-based functionalities. As far as the color range is concerned, the ring will be available in gold, silver, and black and is said to be the direct competitor of the Oura Ring. The smart ring is said to have an impressive battery capacity and is lightweight, ranging between 2.3g and 2.9g.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
Samsung will also be releasing its latest version of wireless earbuds. The Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will ditch their classic design and go for a stem design that mirrors the AirPods Pro, which would help achieve voice clarity and be a better fit overall. Additionally, it will come with a fast pairing system, and both the case and the earbuds will come with LED lights.
Galaxy AI
Samsung will also announce its Galaxy AI features, which will rival Apple intelligence. We could assume that AI capabilities would be incorporated into most devices. Samsung also recently confirmed that the Galaxy AI advancement would only be free until 2025.
Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2024 is packed up with some major releases that we could see in a few hours. You can watch the event live on Samsung's official YouTube channel.
