Hot on the heels of yesterday's release, Apple has seeded tvOS 10.2 Beta 6 and watchOS 3.2 Beta 6 to developers for download.
Apple Watch and Apple TV Developers Can Now Download the Latest Pre-Release Software For their Devices
Apple released iOS 10.3 Beta 6 and macOS 10.12.4 Beta 6 just yesterday, and today Apple is pushing its efforts forward with the release of tvOS 10.2 Beta 6 and watchOS 3.2 Beta 6. All of the aforementioned software is available to download over the air. And since we have covered iOS 10.3 and macOS 10.12.4 beta builds yesterday, therefore we will focus on just tvOS 10.2 and watchOS 3.2 today.
Assuming you have a previous beta of watchOS 3.2 already installed on your Apple Watch, launch the Watch app on your iPhone. Now place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger. Navigate to General > Software Updates inside the Watch app and then tap on Download and Install once the latest update pops up. The entire process may take quite a while given the installation process happens over Bluetooth. Therefore please do not remove your wearable from its charger at any point during the installation.
Apple TV users can update to tvOS 10.2 Beta 6 in a breeze too. Just turn on your device, navigate to Settings > System > Software Updates and install the available update there. Just like the Apple Watch, make sure you do not do anything funny with your Apple TV during the entire process. Once everything is done and dusted, you may use your set top box as you normally would.
Given the fact that we are sitting on the sixth beta release of Apple's software across the board, it's highly likely the final release is just a few days away. It's best to prepare all your devices beforehand and make room for the update so that things move smoothly for you when the big download day arrives.
tvOS 10.2 Beta 6 and watchOS 3.2 Beta 6 brings with them nothing more than bug fixes and performance related patches therefore do not expect something huge. If there is a worthy feature addition or change packed in this release, we will highlight in a separate post, so stay tuned for more.
Whether you are a developer or not, go ahead and update your software immediately.
