Apple M3 MacBook Air announced, M2 gets a major price drop with 15-inch model being discontinied

Apple has finally released the M3 MacBook Air with many new additions. The M3 chip delivers impressive performance gains over the M1 chip and houses updated components for better connectivity. However, Apple has seen fit to reduce the price of the M2 MacBook Air by $100, which is now the best value for users willing to jump to the M2 chip from the M1. Besides this, the company has also seen fit to discontinue the 15-inch MacBook Air, which means it is only selling the 13-inch model.

You can get your hands on the M2 MacBook Air for $999 as Apple introduces an upgraded version

Apple was expected to announce the M3 MacBook Air models alongside the OLED iPad Pro later this month. However, the company saw fit to announce the new machines today, segregating the MacBook Air refresh with the upcoming iPad Pro. Nonetheless, the MacBook Air lineup has received its much-needed upgrade. For those of you who are interested in getting the M2 MacBook Air, Apple is now selling it for $100 less for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage capacity. The M2 MacBook Air is now available for $999 from Apple for the first time.

However, if you plan to upgrade, you can no longer buy the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air from Apple as the company discontinued the machine after the M3 upgrade. What this means is that Apple will not sell the 15-inch version anymore. However, third-party sellers could offer the older version with a discount.

The M3 MacBook Air is available at a starting price of $1,199 for the base model, with 8GB of unified memory and 256GB of storage capacity. The pre-orders for the device will go live on Friday, March 8, in the same color options as the M2 version. We will be covering the launch extensively, so be sure to stick around.
