Out of the countless Apple rumors that we've seen so far, the iPhone 6c is one that simply refuses to die out. With the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple made the much awaited move of moving towards larger screen sizes for its flagship lineup, and things have changed quite a lot in the world of the iPhone since then. But the lack of a smaller screened options made a significant amount of users to feel alienated and the rest is history. Will Apple be launching a smaller iPhone next year? Only time can tell. But rumors and speculation of such a device refuses to die out, so take a look below to find out more.
More Sources Claim The iPhone 6c Coming Q2 2016
As 2015 ends, and 2016 starts, we've got a lot of new devices to look forward next year. Things in the Android world have started to heat up (excuse the pun), as both Samsung and Qualcomm have introduced their Exynos 8890 and the Snapdragon 820 to the market. With the upcoming launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 to get things rolling on the Android flagship cycle, users all around should be quite excited indeed.
In the Apple world, we have to wait for the year's third quarter to end for new iPhone launches, but in 2016, things might be changing. After countless rumors about an upcoming launch of the iPhone 6c, a couple of days back we saw folks over at IHS Technologies claim that the device will be launched in mid 2016. For those following Apple closely, such a break in trend would seem highly unlikely, but folks over at TrendForce have started to make similar claims.
According to them, in a latest report published a while back, Apple will indeed be launching an "upgraded 4-inch iPhone C series" in the second quarter of 2016. Such a launch could end up shaking things quite nicely for Apple and give users some more options for a smartphone change at just the right time. Annual smartphone launches, regardless of the hype they manage to create, do seem to take rather long in today's fast paced world after all.
As far as specifications go, the iPhone 6c is expected to come with the Apple A8 on board, giving it the same performance punch as your iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, should Apple choose to not tinker around with the A8. The device is also expected to come with NFC on board, which makes Apple Pay a near given as well. The iPhone 6c has also been claimed to be dubbed as an upgraded iPhone 5s in internal Apple references, so we might also be treated with Touch ID, something that fits in nicely with Apple Pay and NFC.
On the camera side of things we should expect things to improve as well, with rear resolution seeing an upgrade to 8MP alongside with other customary Apple tweaks. A 4 inch iPhone might become necessary for Apple's portfolio after the iPhone 5s is officially scrapped off of the list, so things do seem bright for the device. Thoughts?
