Apple’s 4-Inch iPhone 6c Tipped For Mid-2016 Launch

The 4-inch iPhone 6c has been in the rumor mill for quite some time. IHS analyst, Kevin Wang reported that the smaller variant of the iPhone 6 lineup will make its debut in the amid of 2016. Although it's a long way to go, a smaller and much affordable iPhone does not sound bad at all.

Previously, we heard about the 4-inch iPhone 6c to be launched alongside Apple's current iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. However, news came shortly before the event that the smaller variant might be unveiled next year. The iPhone 6c has been discussed a lot since then, but it is never witnessed. However, various infamous analysts have anticipated the long awaited launch of the smaller iPhone.

Let's dive in to see some additional details from the report about the much rumored 4-inch iPhone 6c.

The iPhone 6c To Be Launched Without 3D Touch?

Kevin Wang's comments were made on Weibo, China's well known network. These reports have no official credibility, however, the periodic rumors and reports suggest that the 4-inch iPhone will be amongst us in the middle of next year. On the other hand, previous analyst anticipations have also proved wrong, since the 4-inch iPhone form factor was due to be released two months after the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus' unveiling as well.

The point that heats the iPhone 6c launch in mid-2016 has also been echoed by the most accurate predictor of Apple, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securites. There were further claims that the iPhone 6c will feature an A9 SoC, all metal casing but no 3D Touch. Furthermore, he also claims that the Cupertino giant will ship 20-30 million units of the 4-inch iPhone by the end of 2016.

Kevin Wang did not disclose any further details about the iPhone 6c, other than the provision of assurance that the 4-inch iPhone 6c will be part of Apple's ecosystem in the mid-2016. The 4-inch form factor is one of the most desirable features of the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c and by the look of it, it seems Apple is pondering over the second generation of C-series.

If the iPhone 6c does release in mid of 2016, we hope Apple packs in new technology introduced in the current iPhone 6s. Considering the report, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would remain exclusive to the 3D Touch technology.
