Not the first time we have heard about the supply cut for the RTX 5060 Ti, but the latest report suggests NVIDIA could entirely stop the production of the GPU.
NVIDIA May Temporarily Pause the Supply/Production of the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB and May Only Retain the 8 GB Variant Instead
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is the only sensible option under $450 apart from the RX 9060 XT 16 GB, yet it always seems to be the first GPU hit with bad news. Last month, we reported that NVIDIA might cut the supply for the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB significantly since the GDDR7 memory shortages have affected the entire RTX 50 series lineup. Today, we are hearing that NVIDIA may entirely discontinue the GPU temporarily in the coming days.

The news comes from Board Channels, which reported that due to a significant increase in memory prices, NVIDIA might adjust the product strategy for the RTX 5060 Ti. Since it is available in both 8 GB and 16 GB variants, NVIDIA is likely to target the 16 GB variant due to higher costs. As per the report, NVIDIA may only continue the supply of the 8 GB card and stop the production or supply of the 16 GB so that it can maintain an adequate supply for the RTX 5070 series.
RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti are equipped with 12 GB and 16 GB VRAM capacity, respectively, and this mid-range section is crucial for NVIDIA to compete with AMD's products such as Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. Since the latter cards offer 16 GB VRAM, NVIDIA apparently doesn't want to lose the battle in the mid-range category. Therefore, in order to have an adequate supply of the RTX 5070 series, it might pause the production/supply of RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB temporarily.
This is completely opposite of what NVIDIA initially wanted, as the 16 GB was performing pretty well in the market (and still does). Nonetheless, it's not just the RTX 5060 Ti, which may suffer due to higher VRAM prices, but it's the entire RTX 50 series stack, which is reportedly going to see a significant production cut. Keep in mind that these reports aren't official, and one should view them with caution.
