As per a latest report, one of NVIDIA's best-selling RTX 50 series GPUs is going to see a shortage in the coming days or weeks.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB Edition Rumoredly to Get a Cut in Supply, Creating Shortages Soon
Not just regular DDR5 RAM, but several DRAM types are seeing significant price hikes this month. We recently heard reports about GPU video memory, such as GDDR5 and GDDR6, also increasing noticeably in their prices, and it appears that it may even affect some GPUs. GDDR7, which is used in the latest NVIDIA's Blackwell RTX 50 series GPUs, is also supposedly seeing shortages when it comes to Samsung's 3Gb chips.
However, the leaker @Zed__Wang has reported that the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, which relies on the 2 Gb GDDR7 chips will also see shortage in supply soon. The leaker quoted Hardware Canucks post on the DRAM pricing, which indicates that the regular 2 Gb GDDR7 chips are also seeing price hikes, and will reportedly create shortages for the GPU, but it's not clear why the leaker says this about only one GPU, while other RTX 50 GPUs also utilize the same 2 Gb modules.

Do keep in mind that this isn't coming from official sources, but considering the track record of this leaker, it's likely that we may see more reliable reports about the same. We recently heard that NVIDIA is instructing to limit the supply of RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB GPUs due to poor performance in the market and is encouraging them to sell 16 GB editions. Since the GPU has been available at the MSRP for a while now and is also one of the most popular RTX 50 cards in the market, this naturally indicates to a higher demand.
We are yet to hear from sources that report from the supply chains directly, so take this report with a grain of salt. The DRAM price hike is a mess, and we are already seeing DDR4 and DDR5 prices doubling in a short span of time. Hopefully, this doesn't continue for long, as it may affect more GPUs in the long run.
