A big thank you to all of the fans who helped Remnant: From the Ashes achieve this major milestone. Gunfire Games has made a truly special game, and it’s fantastic to see how much it has resonated with players. The team has awesome plans in the works that will continue to keep the game fresh and challenging. We’re looking forward to continuing this journey with them and all of the fans.

Gunfire Games co-founder and president, David Adams, added:

The response to Remnant: From the Ashes has been overwhelming and humbling. We’re excited to expand Remnant’s universe and know players will love the new game content we have in the pipe for 2020. They’ve been asking almost daily for harder and harder challenges, and we are thrilled to unveil Hardcore Mode. Let’s see who has the skills to dominate the Root and make it out alive in one shot!

At the same time, it was confirmed that a new update will be available on October 31st. The patch is adding a Hardcore mode where characters will suffer from permadeath; random matchmaking won't be available in this mode, you'll have to manually invite friends to play with you.

There are definitely going to be benefits for those who brave the already challenging game in this tougher mode, however. Defeating a World Boss in Hardcore will provide new rings with more powerful effects and these rings will become available to all of the characters on the player's account.

The October update is also set to add some QoL improvements such as a communication wheel of emotes/pings/markers, the ability to hide helmets, and obviously some balance changes as well.

Beyond that, a new DLC titled Corsus has been confirmed to be dropping in Spring 2020 alongside a 'Survival Update'. Another 'Top Secret' DLC is scheduled to hit Remnant: From the Ashes late next year.

The game is currently 30% off on PC (Steam) and 20% off on Xbox One (Microsoft Store) as part of the respective Halloween sales.
