New Pokémon Legends Arceus Update 1.0.2 Fixes a Screen Freeze Issue and Some Catching Bugs

Game Freak and Nintendo have rolled out Pokémon Legends Arceus update 1.0.2, and we’ve got the patch notes.

The new patch is a minor one and packs several fixes. No performance or stability improvements are mentioned in the official release notes for this update. The update addresses several reported issues, including a freezing issue while playing offline after trying to pick up a lost satchel by throwing a Pokeball. In addition, the patch includes fixes for some catching issues, including an issue that prevented players from obtaining other certain Pokémon by allowing certain Pokémon to get caught twice instead of once.

Pokémon Legends Arceus Update 1.0.2 Release Notes

Ver. 1.0.2 (Released February 8, 2022)

  • Fixed an issue where, while offline, the screen could freeze after trying to pick up a lost satchel by throwing out a ball that contains a Pokémon.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes made it difficult to catch Cherrim.
  • Fixed an issue where a certain event would not occur during a particular Mission, preventing the scenario from proceeding as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where players could obtain certain Pokémon twice instead of once only as intended, prohibiting the player from obtaining other certain Pokémon. The relevant Pokémon will appear for players who were unable to catch those certain Pokémon due to this issue.

As always, this update will download automatically when this feature is enabled on the Switch console. Of course, the update can also be downloaded manually via the Switch Home menu by pressing the + or – button on the Arceus icon and then selecting Software Update.

Pokémon Legends Arceus is available globally now for the Switch. The game has already proven to be quite the success for Nintendo and Game Freak with the game selling over 6.5 million units since its launch.
