Platinum Games is currently working on the Nintendo Switch exclusive titles Astral Chain and Bayonetta 3, but it seems like there's more brewing at the Japanese studio.

Speaking with VGC, Platinum Games' studio head Atsushi Inaba talked about a new project the team is currently working on. This project is something that has never been done before, and it's a consequence of the changes the team underwent in recent years regarding business model and game design approach.

Right now we’re in the middle of designing something that has never been done before. I know a lot of people say that, but the game we’re working on truly is unlike anything else.

Even for our varied history of veteran game developers, this is something that has never been designed before. So from a game design perspective, we’re very excited right now.

Inaba also touched on Bayonetta 3. Very little is currently known about the game, but it seems like the game may be a little different from the previous entries, as the design process for the game is different. These changes come from the experience the team had developing the previous games.

The next title developed by Platinum Games to be released is Astral Chain. It will launch this Summer on Nintendo Switch.
