NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 Official Gaming Benchmarks Leaked – 47% Faster Than 1080 Ti
One of the biggest leaks of Turing history has just been dumped by Videocardz and contains the full range of official benchmarks from NVIDIA's reviewing guide. Before we go into the benchmarks, I want to say that its very likely that even this isn't the peak performance that we can expect from these cards as drivers are being finetuned. It also goes without saying that considering these are official numbers, you probably want to wait for third-party reviews.
Massive benchmark leak reveals NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 performance: 47% faster than last generation without using DLSS
Let's start with synthetics first:
According to these official benchmarks, NVIDIA's RTX series is easily 50% faster than its predecessor. The RTX 2080 Ti is exactly 47% faster than the 1080 Ti and the RTX 2080 is around 50% faster in the very famous 3DMark TimeSpy benchmark - which is built around DX12. We will see similar performance differentials throught the other games benchmarked - 12 in all.
Battlefield 1 is the first game tested and both the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti easily achieve over 60 fps in the title - with the RTX 2080 Ti touching 90. Shadow of the tomb raider is also present and interestingly, only the RTX 2080 Ti is able to go anywhere near the 60 fps mark (at 59 fps) with the RTX 2080 scoring a playable 47 and the 1080 ti following at an argueablyplayable 42 fps. The GTX 1080 manages to scrape a minimum-acceptable 30 fps in the AAA title.
On the Starwards battlefront, front, the RTX 2080 Ti is once again seen touching 86fps with the RTX 2080 following behind at 69 fps - the GTX 1080 Ti here scores a solid 60 fps. Witcher 3 was also tested and the RTX 2080 Ti can churn out 78 frames per second on what are almost certainly maxed out settings. Its younger sibling - the RTX 2080 - scores 62 fps as well with the GTX 2080 Ti not too far behind at 57 fps.
One thing is for sure - the RTX series is a beast at 4k performance. Pretty much all AAA titles are above the 60 fps mark in 4k (with the exception of SOTTR). Of course, this performance is without DLSS enhancement (which can drastically improve performance) and without RTX enabled (which can drastically decrease performance). Launch is just a few days away and the company recently seeded reviewers with drivers - which should allow them to unlock the full potential of their cards and see just how well they compare to these official specs.
