Palit Introduces GeForce RTX 3060 Infinity 2 OC 12 GB GPU in the Market as a "Reigning Champion" According to Steam Hardware Survey

It's well-known from reliable reports that NVIDIA wants the Ampere-based RTX 3060 back in the market. Various vendors have started to introduce the RTX 3060 GPU in the market as a result. We recently saw Colorful adding its iGame RTX 3060 12 GB GPU to its arsenal, and now we have Palit doing the same, by introducing the RTX 3060 12 GB in its catalog.

The RTX 3060 12 GB remains a five-year-old GPU that brought the Ampere lineup huge success. To this day, the RTX 3060 12 GB remains a top choice for users who want decent gaming performance on a budget without compromising on the VRAM size. Unlike the RTX 4060 and 5060, the RTX 3060 is the only card that remains available in up to 12 GB VRAM size.

Palit has therefore called the RTX 3060 a "reigning champion", which sees great popularity according to the latest Steam Hardware Survey. At the moment, the RTX 3060 is the most popular desktop GPU according to Steam, with nearly 4% share, while the latest RTX 50 series cards like RTX 5060 are stuck at under 3% share. Palit says that its new RTX 3060 Infinity 2 OC GPU will provide smooth and "ultra-stable" framerates at 1080p resolution, which is true as the GPU is quite capable of running modern titles without any hassles.

Its 12 GB VRAM size makes it the perfect choice for modern gaming, but given that the majority of titles run fine even with 8 GB VRAM, the RTX 5060 is surely a superior choice at the moment, selling for around $350. RTX 3060 12 GB is still a viable choice, especially when you can find it for under $300, but considering it doesn't bring support for NVIDIA's newest technologies, such as FG/MFG, many gamers will find themselves regretting over a choice that does nothing except for bringing 4 GB more memory.
