Nintendo NX March 2017 Release Date Reconfirmed By Nintendo
Nintendo has reconfirmed the Nintendo NX March 2017 release date.
In its latest annual report, Nintendo detailed its research and development activities for the future. Several topics were detailed, including Nintendo’s hardware development. The Japanese gaming behemoth, states to be devoted to the development of the Nintendo NX, which will feature a “brand-new concept” and is to be released in March 2017.
With respect to hardware, Nintendo continuously investigates and undertakes research on fundamental technologies spanning data storage technology such as semiconductor memories, display technology such as liquid crystal displays, and electronic components, while it also carries out research and development activities to examine the applicability of various technologies including interfaces such as touch panels and sensors, wireless communication, networks and security to the field of home entertainment. Nintendo is also devoted to the development of a gaming platform codenamed “NX” with a brand-new concept, which will be launched in March 2017 globally.
Earlier this year, Nintendo already announced that the NX would be released in March 2017, but recent rumors claimed that the NX would be delayed into late 2017 due to a VR function being added to the console.
Recently, during Nintendo’s 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, chief Director of Manufacturing and Director, Hirokazu Shinshi, stated that manufacturing of the Nintendo NX is still being prepared.
“While making the same product for a long time, the amount manufactured changes based on things like the Christmas season. It’s easy to automate unchanging production amounts, but it’s difficult when they do change. We’re thoroughly communicating with our partners to make adjustments. As for the NX, manufacturing is being prepped. We’re considering how much to automate”, Shinshi said.
We can only hope that Nintendo will release its new console in March next year. Nintendo will reveal more about the NX later this year. We will keep you posted.
