Samsung surprised us all last night when the company decided to tease the Galaxy Ring. However, it was the smallest tease in the history of teases, as the company did not reveal anything about the ring. We do know that the new smart ring is going to have a lot of health-oriented features, as everything leading up to the tease revolved around Samsung Health. However, we are not sure about the specifics, and Samsung did not divulge anything, either.
The Galaxy Ring will be available later this year in three finishes, could be made out of titanium
Now, an analyst, Avi Grenegart, managed to get his hands on the Galaxy Ring prototypes. He claims that the ring was "ridiculously light," and Samsung will be offering it in sizes up to 13. The analyst also revealed that Samsung will be offering the ring in three finishes, but at the time of writing, we are not sure what the finishes are going to be. But given how the ring is said to be light, I have a feeling that it could be titanium as it has become a popular choice of material for many people.
Last but not least, the analyst has also talked about how the Galaxy Ring is going to be available for purchase later this year. However, at the time of writing, we do not know the exact date. If you look back at Samsung's history with wearable launches, the ring could come out with other wearables when Samsung inevitably launches the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 later this year.
Honestly, I am not a big fan of smartwatches because I believe that they take away from the feeling of an actual watch, and I would rather wear a traditional, mechanical watch instead of a timepiece. However, the Galaxy Ring is something that I could see myself investing in, provided it delivers all the tracking features that a Galaxy Watch would be able to deliver. We will find a lot more information in the coming months, so stay tuned.
