The very first details for the new Need for Speed ‘Heat’ have allegedly leaked, including gameplay details and some images.

EA Ghost is to reveal its next Need for Speed installment later today, but details about the racer have supposedly already leaked. Some weeks ago, a retailer listed Need for Speed Heat, and from the looks of it, this will indeed be the title for the next Need for Speed. As spotted by an eagle-eyed ResetEra user, various images can be pulled from the game’s reveal trailer that has yet to go live. Judging from these images, we might very well be looking at a Miami-setting.

Heat is said to have a more serious story in an open-world setting. The game won’t feature a day-night cycle and rainy weather is confirmed to be included. To the delight of many fans, Heat won’t be always-online and can be paused if needed.

According to the leak, developer Ghost Games will use Need for Speed Heat as a foundation for ALL Need for Speed titles in the future with Heat being a fusion between 2015’s Need for Speed and Need for Speed Rivals.  The graphics of Heat are said to be better than those of Need for Speed Payback and should be on par with 2015’s Need for Speed reboot.

Speed Cards and Off-road won’t be included in Heat, while classic Need for Speed cop chases are said to return. They have heat levels, helicopters are returning to free-roam chases and there won’t be speedbreakers.

As said, EA and Ghost Games will officially reveal the next Need for Speed later today. The most current Need for Speed, Need for Speed Payback, was released back in 2017.
