If you were anxiously waiting for the update, it can now be downloaded through the Software Update section of System Settings. macOS 15.1 is a major update and Apple intelligence is the reason why. It is the first major update for the Mac that houses the new AI features. While it does not encompass all the new AI features that Apple announced on stage, you will still be able to use a slew of new additions.

Some of the new additions include new Writing Tools, a new Siri design, Focus Modes, and smart replies. Siri has been updated with a redesign that features a soft glow around the display. You also have the option to type in Siri to get answers. However, one of the most notable improvements to Siri is its ability to understand context, which will allow it to better compete against the likes of Google Assistant.

The Writing Tool upgrade will be available across the operating system when editing text. It can provide suggestions, spell check, correct grammar, and much more. In addition, the new Smart Replies feature will be available in the Messages app and the Mail app, which will give you suggestions on what to reply based on the context. We will be covering the features in extensive detail, so be sure to stick around for more.
