The two Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games could get remastered in the future, judging from some pictures taken during this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

As shared on the ResetERA forums by user Mama Robotnik, two statues depicting Cain and Raziel are being shown during the event with a Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered branding. The attached QR Code leads to a Dark Horse newsletter sign-up, so something is definitely brewing. Original developer Crystal Dynamics has yet to make any announcement, but with the branding being out, it's likely that one is not too far off in the future.

It has been a very long time since the release of any Legacy of Kain game. The final one, Defiance, was released back in 2003, bringing a close to both Kain and Raziel's stories and, apparently, the series as a whole. The game was supposed to be followed by the multiplayer title Nosgoth, which reached an open beta stage in early 2015 but was eventually canceled with the servers shutting down in 2016. Hopefully, the two remasters will pave the way for more remasters to offer modern players the chance to experience the entirety of the series and a new entry in what I personally consider one of the best gaming series of all time.
