Kingdom Hearts III

With this year's E3 being so close, many expected Kingdom Hearts III news to come during Square Enix's conference. Thankfully, it seems like we won't have to wait a month to learn more about the game.

Earlier today, Kingdom Hearts series focused websites Kingdom Hearts Insider and KH13.com have confirmed that the embargo on the Kingdom Hearts III Invitation Premier Event will lift on May 18th at 6:00 AM PT. Both sites confirm hands-on impressions to come on the same day, so we will learn more about the game's actual experience.

Back in February, we have learned more about the development status of the game, with members of the team confirming that everything is proceeding smoothly.

The background, among the ten* worlds and other things that were being worked on, are divided into three major areas: the beginning locations, mid-level locations, and the final locations. In the beginning locations, Monsters, Inc. and Toy Story are included, and are about 90% completed. Mid-level locations, including Tangled, are about 60 to 70% finished. The background team is probably the largest in Square Enix, and, in addition to the Osaka and Tokyo teams, there are orders being carried out by outsourced foreign company employees.

Kingdom Hearts III launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this year.
