Well, it seems that Intel is seeing experts and highly experienced individuals depart from the company, as the company's pursuit of profitability is apparently shrinking its talent pool.

Intel's Key Engineers Are Departing The Firm Following Cancellation of 'Ambitious' Projects

Under the new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, Team Blue has canceled a variety of projects that were deemed to be highly beneficial based on what former CEO Pat Gelsinger had envisioned. Intel's long-term vision towards developing advanced semiconductors has apparently been shifted to a shorter timeline, which is why projects like glass substrates are being abandoned under CEO Tan. Now, the Korean media outlet ChosunBiz reports that Team Blue is facing a talent drainage, with many of its experts and renowned employees switching to the likes of Samsung.

Intel's key goal right now is to boost shareholder value, which means that the firm needs to drop projects that are consuming resources and haven't brought in viable returns. CEO Tan said that there was no more room for 'blank checks,' which has apparently resulted in several projects and investments being canceled. Apart from this, Intel's key engineers are now shifting to competitors like Samsung since such firms are more focused on semiconductor ambitions amid their rapid shift towards producing in the US.

Samsung is targeting engineers who have worked with technologies such as glass substrates, BSPDN, and packaging technologies. The Korean giant is apparently focusing on expanding its foundry division with newer ventures. We recently reported that an Intel expert, who claimed to be a crucial part of Intel's pursuit of glass substrates, switched to Samsung after nearly 25 years of service with Team Blue. There are many such cases across Intel right now, which is mainly driven by the current financial conditions of the firm.

Whether or not Intel's current approach would benefit the company is a question for the future, but for now, competing firms out there are in the pursuit of grabbing Team Blue's talent.
