Instagram Gains Support for Dark Mode in iOS 13
Instagram is the most popular photo-sharing app in the world, allowing users to connect with each other and share photos. The platform does not seem to rest when it comes to adding new features and extensions to the mix. Now, almost three weeks after the release of iOS 13, Instagram has updated its app with Dark Mode. The new dark mode matches the system-wide settings in iOS 13 with a black and dark gray scheme so it is now much easier on the eyes. Let's dive in to see some more details on the new dark mode in iOS 13.
Dark Mode in iOS 13 Extends its Reach to Instagram
Instagram's Dark Mode implementation integrates with iOS 13 settings, which means that the app will automatically switch between dark or light design based on your setting. The app now looks way easier on the eyes, especially at night. Before today, Instagram only featured a light color design which would strain your eyes in low light if used for excessive time. Dark Mode in Instagram is definitely a welcome addition and something other apps should also focus on.
Even though Facebook has updated the Instagram app with dark mode integration, the Facebook app itself still remains without support. Nonetheless, we can expect the app to arrive sometime in the near future. Other than this, the app looks fairly clean and it will take advantage of OLED screens with deeper blacks. Ultimately, it will contribute to saving battery life as well, so it's a pretty decent addition to the mix.
