After the success of the Mate 60, Huawei likely intends to keep the momentum running on its home turf with the Mate 70 series as it prepares to go head-on with Apple’s iPhone 16 family. According to one tipster, the former Chinese giant will attempt to one-up its rivals by ordering a higher shipment of the Mate 70, and given how the company’s current-generation smartphones are performing in the region, these can cause trouble to the competition.
Exact shipment volume of the Mate 70 was not shared by a tipster, but earlier statistics of the Mate 60 indicate that Huawei might sell upwards of 30 million units
Before the Mate 70 series launch, Huawei is expected to unveil the P70 range, which is said to include three models; the regular version, followed by the P70 Pro and the P70 Art. Earlier estimations state that the P70 lineup would see a 100 percent shipment growth compared to the P60, painting a significantly positive picture for the Mate 70.
In fact, Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu mentions on the micro-blogging platform that the shipment volume of the new flagship series, including the insanely premium and ridiculously expensive ‘Ultimate Design’ variant, will be higher than the Mate 60.

However, the tipster did not provide specifics in his post, but that figure was unnecessary, as an earlier statistic claimed that Huawei had so far shipped 30 million Mate 60 units in China, which is impressive to see, given that shipments in the region are in a constant decline.
Even Apple, who recently surpassed Samsung to become the biggest smartphone brand in the world, has witnessed a double-digit drop in shipments in the region and was forced to offer rare discounts in an attempt to offset the dwindling sales.
Huawei’s resurgence has caused problems for other brands, and there are rumors that a new Kirin 9010 is being developed for its upcoming flagships. The chipset upgrade alone should be a massive selling point for the Mate 70 series, and paired with some impressive camera specifications, we might see the company exceed the popularity of the Mate 60 in a few short months.
