In this Complete Walkthrough and Guides Hub, you will find everything you need to make your journey to restore the world much more enjoyable.
Overview

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a traditional turn-based role-playing game where players control a party of heroes traveling to restore a world that has been mysteriously torn apart. Starting from Estard Island, you will be on the hunt for tablet Fragments, which grant access via the altars in the Shrine of Mystery to the islands that once made up the world, and solve whatever crisis they had been dealing with in the past to restore them to the present.
To improve the original and Nintendo 3DS experience while offering something new to returning players, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined introduces many gameplay tweaks. One of the most significant changes are the new Difficulty Levels and settings that allow you to tailor the experience to your liking.
If you're unsure which settings are best for an engaging first playthrough, check out our Best Difficulty Settings for a Balanced First Playthrough guide.

Story Progression

Restoring the world is a massive undertaking that involves traversing different time periods to fix the historical tragedies of each island. From the perpetual night of Ballymolly to the volcanic threats in Emberdale, each region acts as a self-contained story that contributes to the grander mystery of why the world disappeared. Progress is strictly tied to finding Fragments, which can often be discovered in the most unlikely of places.
At times, you will also have to complete puzzles to proceed and unlock new mechanics. This is the case of the Poolside Cavern "wintry bath" chest puzzle, where you will have to open up a treasure chest to proceed, and Pit of Silence Puzzle, which will reward you with the ability to change Vocations shortly after clearing it.
Other times, it will be powerful enemies that will bar the way. Among the first that will challenge your knowledge of the game mechanics will be the fearsome Cardinal Sin who sits in Alltrades Abbey.
Besides being on the hunt for Fragments, you will also encounter tons of optional activities and sidequests featuring the same bit of old-fashioned puzzle-solving as mandatory story quests. This is the case of the animal-themed festivities in L'Arca, which provide you the chance of obtaining a useful early-game accessory
Characters

The heroes of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined are a diverse group of individuals, each with their own personal stakes in the world's restoration. From the silent Hero to the spirited Maribel and the wild-hearted Ruff, your party members each possess unique stat growths that make them suited for specific roles. Understanding these strengths is vital once you reach Alltrades Abbey, where the depth of character customization truly begins
Once the Vocations system is available, you can start take advantage of some of the system's quirks to perform some extraordinary feats, such as being able to consistently defeat Metal Slimes for massive experience points gain.
Mastering Vocations can take a long time, and you may end up completing the game without unlocking any of the most advanced character classes. Thnakfully, there's an easy way to farm Vocation Proficiency quickly, and get access to some advanced abilities shortly after unlocking the Vocations system.

Exploration and Traversal

Exploration is the cornerstone of the Dragon Quest VII experience, and Reimagined makes navigating these diorama-like maps more intuitive than ever. Detailed mini-maps and a streamlined UI facilitate the search for Fragments, but the core of the game remains the same as in the original, centered on interaction with NPCs and the environment.
Beyond the main quest, players can hunt for Mini-Medals to trade for useful gear or seek out Vicious monsters to claim their Monster Hearts, which grant party members some unique buffs to make them even more powerful.
