Being modeled after the classic PlayStation and 3DS entries, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined features different sub stores in every new land you visit. Upon returning to L'Arca after Ruff joins your party, you may be surprised to find the village still appears to be filled with animals.
Thankfully, there is no new curse to break. By entering the Mayor’s House, you will reveal the truth: the villagers are simply dressed up for La Festa, a festival celebrating the town's salvation.

How to Start the Minigame

To participate in the festivities, you must first look the part. Head over to the Mayor's house to talk with him. As the Mayor suggests, check the drawers in his house for animal costumes for your party. Once dressed, you can finally speak with the "animals" in town.
To begin the challenge, head to the Main Square and speak with the man standing near the center. He will task you with a game of deduction: you must correctly identify which three NPCs are actually Warriors in disguise.
The Correct Answers

While you can complete the minigame by simply guessing blindly, you can save time by selecting the following three animals:
- The Dog
- The Horse
- The Cow (The one situated to the left)
Reward: Is it Worth It?

Once you have correctly identified the warriors, speak to the Mayor to claim your prize. He will award the party with the Ruby of Protection.
| Item | Effect | Best Equipped On |
| Ruby of Protection | +20 Defense | Maribel or Ruff |
In the early game of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a +20 Defense boost is good to have, especially for characters with lower natural defense like Maribel and Ruff, and if you are playing with higher difficulty settings. As it's so easy to get, I highly recommend grabbing this immediately before traveling to the next Tablet fragment.
