In Crimson Desert, cooking meals is key to survival, as eating food is among the most convenient ways to restore HP of Kliff, Damiane and Oongka on the fly. However, this healing system comes with a bit of friction: if you didn't stop at a bonfire to cook a meal before heading into a dangerous area or ahead of a difficult boss fight, you may be out of healing items before you know it.
However, with its sandbox mechanics, Crimson Desert allows you to solve several issues creatively. As such, it is possible to cook the simplest of meals using one of the game's core abilities and one of the most useful: Blinding Flash.
How to Cook Using Blinding Flash

After unlocking Blinding Flash in Chapter 2, you can use its unique heat generation properties to light anything on fire by directing light towards certain objects. This includes discarded ingredients such as meat and fruit.
To cook using Blinding Flash, you need to:
- Open your inventory and discard the ingredients you want to cook on the fly (meat and fruit work best).
- Hold L1/LB + R1/RB to use Blinding Flash, and then hold L1/LB to focus the beam of reflected light towards the discarded ingredients.
- Continue focusing the beam of reflected light for a few seconds on the discarded ingredients. Once you notice they have changed their color, they are ready.
While this caveman cooking method can only be used to produce the simplest of meals, you shouldn't discard the usefulness of simple grilled meat. They restore a decent chunk of HP, and since you don't have to waste time locating the nearest bonfire, this secret cooking method works great in a bind when you are out of food at the worst possible time!
