A new Crimson Desert patch has gone live, fulfilling more community wishes

Right on schedule, Korean developer Pearl Abyss released a new patch for Crimson Desert on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, utilizing its custom Blackspace Engine to further enhance side characters while reducing load times and fulfilling more community wishes, including new decoration options for the player's house, or rather the area outside it.

Patch 1.12 allows players to decorate the area outside their house, adding 2 new tools that can be used to craft items and 58 new items, including fountains and wells. These items, however, cannot be crafted without first getting crafting manuals from shops, claw machines, the box of fortune, and the orb roll.

The new Crimson Desert update also continues to improve side characters Damiane and Oongka ahead of the possible future expansion of their backstories as teased by Pearl Abyss' director of marketing and PR, Will Powers. These improvements include the ability for both characters to equip Visiones and read memories, and to ride the dragon Blackstar. Both additions may sound minor, but they essentially bring both characters on par with Kliff, making them more usable than ever before in open-world exploration.

Kliff is also seeing some improvements in patch 1.12, as the leader of the Greymanes gets 5 new headgear items and 1 set of armor. Damiane also gets a new pair of gloves, while all three playable characters get the new Greymane Signet accessory.

The new Crimson Desert patch also introduces a hefty list of improvements, as listed in the official patch notes. The most notable of them is the loading time reduction at the start of the game, and the character loading screen displayed even when loading as Oongka or Damiane.

Although patch 1.12 doesn't introduce any major new features, it's still great to see Pearl Abyss continuing to support Crimson Desert every week. As Pearl Abyss is working on story improvements and a DLC expansion, there's still plenty to look forward to for the over 6 million players who have ventured in Pywel since the game's release in March.
