Overview
Although it is a very early quest, clearing the Escape The Fleet objective and completing The Treasure Fleet quest can be somewhat challenging. It is, after all, your very first outing with the Jackdawn, and you do not get the time to practice its controls before getting thrown into a literaly storm.
However, escaping the fleet is relatively simple with the correct strategy.
Take Down the Enemy Ships

While escaping should be your first priority, trying to do so with enemy ships tailing you is difficult. As such, consider sinking them using both the Broadside Cannons and the frontal Chain Shot.
In case you still want to ignore them, make sure to use the Explosive Barrels by aiming from the back of the ship, and fire at them with the Swivel Gun using the R1 / RB buttons when not aiming any weapon to detonate them when enemy ships are nearby. Doing so properly will let you destroy a ship in a single shot.
Surviving the Dangers of the Sea

Once you have taken down the enemy ship, you can finally follow the market to safety. However, will first have to survive a rogue wave and avoid thunderstorms and waterspouts that can easily sink your ship.
- To avoid the rogue wave, just head straight into it to negate damage.
- To avoid thunder, keep your attention to the surface of the sea. A circle will briefly appear where thunder is about to struck, so steer away to avoid danger.
- To avoid the waterspouts, head to your left as much as you can once they appear, and keep your distance. After a few seconds, they will disappear, allowing you to proceed towards the marker, and safety.
