We already knew that Hogwarts Legacy had a very successful launch based on Steam concurrent players (the game is now ranked #8th in the all-time chart) and on Twitch viewers, but now we've got some additional data from publisher Warner Bros. Games. David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Games, told Variety:

The player engagement is spectacular. So far, we have tracked over 267 million hours played, 393 million magical plants grown, 242 million potions brewed, and 1.25 billion Dark Wizards defeated.

We are very pleased with the initial launch and see a bright future for our other platform launches. Our goal is to continue to utilize our amazing library of Warner Bros. Discovery franchises as we develop our future slate of games.

JB Perrette, president and CEO of global streaming and games for Warner Bros Discovery, added:

We are fortunate and unique in being able to tell every kind of story at WBD, from fiction to nonfiction, movies to TV, and linear to interactive. Our ability to develop and publish world-class games in-house sets us apart from other entertainment companies.

Indeed, this is just the beginning for Hogwarts Legacy, given that it'll soon launch on platforms with a huge install base, such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (on April 4th) and Nintendo Switch (on July 25th). One has to wonder whether all this success will convince Warner Bros. Games to push the developers to create some Hogwarts Legacy DLC, as Avalanche Software Game Director Alan Tew recently told IGN there are no such plans at the moment.

Following the release of Hogwarts Legacy (which already has lots of mods and tweaks to improve the PC version, as you can read here), we won't have to wait long before the next big game published by Warner Bros. Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is getting ready for its release, nearly eight years after their previous game (Batman: Arkham Knight).

The open world action/adventure game featuring co-op support for up to four players is set to launch on May 26th across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X after a couple of delays from the previous 2022 and early 2023 release windows. At long last, fans of the Arkhamverse will get fifteen minutes of gameplay later today as part of the latest State of Play stream, providing the most in-depth look yet at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
