Hogwarts Legacy Mod Amps Up the Game’s Combat Difficulty

A new Hogwarts Legacy mod released this week by NexusMods user BannerAD aims to increase the game's combat difficulty. The creator managed to tweak certain values that increase enemy damage to 2x (up from 1.3x of the regular Hard setting) but also slightly decrease their health from 1x to 0.8x so that combat becomes more dangerous for both the player and the enemy NPCs.

This Hogwarts Legacy mod also modifies other values. For example, the window to pull off a perfect Protego (parry) is increased from 0.6 to 1 second, while the enemy Protego cooldown is increased from 0 to 10.

BannerAD recommends using this alongside another Hogwarts Legacy mod he had previously created. Called Consistent Basic Cast, it changes how damage is dealt with the basic casts. By default, the first three hits deal relatively low damage, whereas the fourth and final one of the combo is a lot more damaging. After installing this mod, all hits deal the same damage, and the overall damage is nearly identical.

Vanilla damage: 40 + 40 + 40 + 307 = 427
Modded damage: 106 + 106 + 106 + 106 = 424

The real perk is that it allows players to be more flexible and throw in spell cooldowns in the middle of the basic cast combo instead of being forced to finish the combo to get its full damage.

Do note that if you want to use both mods at the same time, or either one of them with another that edits PhoenixShipData.sqlite, you will first need to use the Hogwarts Legacy Mod Merger or they will overwrite each other.
