Gigabyte's X3D Turbo Mode is a BIOS-specific feature that offers up to 35% faster gaming performance on AMD Ryzen 9000X3D 3D V-Cache CPUs.

Gigabyte today announced its brand new feature called "X3D Turbo Mode" for AMD CPU users, which enhances the performance of the latest Ryzen chips in gaming. As per the press release, Gigabyte claims that the X3D Turbo Mode can uplift gaming performance by as much as 35%.

This performance boost is for the latest Zen 5-based AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, which are yet to launch but isn't limited to these CPUs. The feature will also work with Ryzen 9000 non-X3D chips and the older Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000X3D processors as well. The X3D Turbo Mode is created specifically for Gigabyte motherboard BIOS, which will allow unlocking the full performance of these chips in just a single click.

As shown in the window, the Gigabyte X3D Turbo Mode is available in the Easy Mode and the users need to just 'Enable' the X3D Turbo Mode, and nothing else is required. As claimed by Gigabyte, the AMD Ryzen 9000 non-X3D chips can reach gaming performance equivalent to their X3D counterparts, which is up to a 20% performance uplift.

Through this mode, Gigabyte motherboards seek to reduce latency and optimize various parameters but the feature will be dependent on both the processor model and DRAM settings. Not much has been revealed regarding what exactly the X3D Turbo Mode does but it's something that can be enabled in both 800 and 600 chipset motherboards as both feature AM5 sockets, compatible with the Zen 4 and Zen 5-based chips.

It is unclear whether the Ryzen 7000 non-X3D chips will benefit from this feature too but at least the 7000X3D processors can improve in performance. The Gigabyte X3D Turbo Mode will be available via the AMD AGESA 1.2.0.2a BIOS and will be integrated into the new patch followed by synchronization with AORUS AI SNATCH in the future.

The current BIOS available for AMD X870 and X670 chipset motherboards is AGESA 1.2.0.2 and it already supports AORUS AI SNATCH and EXPO AI BOOST. However, the AGESA 1.2.0.2 patch will most likely be released just before the launch of Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, which is expected in early November.
