The laptop is new, but the specs aren't. Given the current market state, many OEMs are deploying older hardware in their machines.
GIGABYTE Launches EAGLE GL6J in Two Variants, Offering Ryzen 5 7533HS Paired With Either RTX 3050 or RTX 4050
It's not surprising to see vendors using older hardware in their devices these days. Many vendors are now deploying Intel's Raptor Lake series chips in their mini PCs and laptops, while some are now seen using previous-generation GPUs as well. The current state of the market has forced vendors to opt for older hardware to cut costs.
GIGABYTE is now one of those vendors that isn't just focusing on modern hardware. It already has plenty of products equipped with the latest generation CPUs and graphics cards, but it decided to introduce a budget laptop series for gamers and students, who would receive older generation hardware.
This is the GIGABYTE EAGLE GL6J, which the company silently launched on its Taiwan domain, indicating that the laptops might be only available in Taiwan at the moment. The EAGLE GL6J will be available in two variants: EAGLE 9MJ and EAGLE 9LJ. Both are identical in specifications in most areas, except for the GPU, where one utilizes an RTX 30 series card, while the other settles for a newer one.

In both cases, you won't get the latest NVIDIA RTX 50 series GPU, but RTX 4050 and RTX 3050 are available as the only options. These GPUs are entry-level cards that can play games at 1080p medium settings, offering smooth gaming performance without breaking the bank. Each of these cards offers 6 GB GDDR6 memory, and is capable of increasing performance through DLSS technology, while the RTX 4050 can also utilize frame generation for smoother gameplay.
These GPUs will be paired with AMD's Rembrandt Zen 3+ Ryzen 5 7533HS CPU, which offers a 6-core/12-thread configuration and up to 4.4 GHz boost clock. For memory, one can expand the system RAM by up to 64 GB, while storage can be expanded up to 4 TB. The display is an IPS panel, boasting 1920x1200p resolution, capable of running at up to 165 Hz refresh rate.
Pricing and availability details aren't made public yet.
