Sucker Punch Productions has released Ghost of Yotei Legends as free DLC for all owners of Ghost of Yotei today on PS5. It's a welcome return of the surprise multiplayer mode that players loved digging into in Ghost of Tsushima, but its arrival on PlayStation today, days after we learned more about Sony's evolving strategy with its PC ports, makes the strategy pivot sting even more.

When Ghost of Tsushima arrived on PC, it set new records for concurrent player counts on Steam amongst PlayStation's current suite of PS5 to PC releases and was the best-selling game in the US in its debut month. We know that its Legends mode has been a success on both the console and PC version, and while the single-player campaign is arguably the bigger draw with both of Sucker Punch's Ghost games, its multiplayer Legends mode is really beloved by fans of both games.

Now, following reports that Ghost of Yotei and Saros will be the first two games coming from PlayStation that will no longer be receiving PC ports, it's doubtful that we'll see Ghost of Yotei Legends released as a separate title on PC, even though Sony will reportedly continue to offer the multiplayer games made by its first-party games on PC.

Regardless, Ghost of Yotei owners on PS5 and PS5 Pro can jump into Ghost of Yotei Legends once they've downloaded and installed Patch 1.5. The multiplayer mode launches with four different classes, multiple different kinds of missions to play through and multiple difficulty levels to work through.

There's also a larger Raid event that'll be coming down the pipeline next month where players will take on the final two members of the Yotei Six, or at least the even more twisted and demonic versions of them that you fight in Legends.
