Samsung is apparently preparing a bag of goodies for the Chinese market, where it has been facing an inordinately stiff competition for nearly a decade now, by equipping the Galaxy S26 Ultra with direct satellite connectivity.
China Compulsory Certification (CCC or 3C) for the relevant variant of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has revealed direct satellite connectivity for emergencies and 60W of wired charging
The Chinese certification for the pertinent variant of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has now leaked online, revealing the smartphone's direct satellite connectivity feature for emergencies. Do note that Apple has been offering this facility since the iPhone 14 launched back in 2022.
The certification also confirms the smartphone's support for wired charging at 60W, with the charger brick sold separately.
The tipster also referenced a previous 3C certification to postulate a 5,000mAh battery for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is an apparent downgrade from previous suggestions of a 5,200mAh battery.
Also, as we previously reported, Samsung is finally bringing iPhone-like wireless charging to the Galaxy S26 lineup:
- The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 25W wireless charging, reducing the total charging time by around 40 percent relative to the 15W wireless charging experience that Samsung offered in previous models.
- The standard Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ will support 20W wireless charging, which is equivalent to what the iPhone Air currently supports.
As per the available information at this time, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a selfie camera hole that will be around 4mm bigger than its predecessor's, resulting in a wider field of view, but at the cost of overall aesthetics.
Additional details about the Galaxy S26 Ultra include:
- More rounded edges.
- A 6.9-inch screen with frame dimensions of 163.6mm x 78.1mm x 7.9mm.
- Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
- A dedicated camera island at the rear.
- An intelligent anti-peeping display called "Private Screen."
- APV tech for video recording.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to sport the following camera setup:
- A 12MP ISOCELL 3LD S5K3LD 3x telephoto (possibly with a smaller, 1/3.94-inch aperture)
- A single 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera (possibly with a wider aperture)
- A 50MP ISOCELL JN3 or Sony IMX564 ultrawide camera
- A 50MP IMX854 5x periscope camera (possibly with a wider aperture)
- A 12MP IMX874 selfie camera
