Yesterday, the Fallout TV show received the official air date. The TV series will debut on April 12, 2024 via Amazon's Prime Video.

The Fallout TV adaptation was announced in July 2020. It is being handled by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan (brother of the more famous film director Christopher Nolan) and Lisa Joy through their production studio, Kilter Films. Executive producers include Todd Howard himself and John Altman for Bethesda Softworks, Athena Wickham for Kilter Films, the Joy-Nolan duo, and showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet (the writer of Tomb Raider and Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner, who wrote and produced shows like The Office and Silicon Valley.

Not much is known about it other than it'll be set in Los Angeles, a first for the series. The Fallout TV series cast includes some pretty big names, too: Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Dune, Blue Velvet), Walton Goggins (Justified, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight), and Ella Purnell (Kick-Ass 2, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Arcane, Yellowjackets). Encouragingly, the few leaks from the set show accurate renditions of power armor and the series' Vault (number 32).

In other Fallout news, Bethesda announced that celebrations are now underway for the fifth anniversary of Fallout 76. First and foremost, there's a free play week running until October 30 on all platforms (PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox). Prime Gaming and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can also pick up a complimentary anniversary bundle until November 28.

Starting today and running through November 7, Fallout 76 players will also witness the return of the 'Spooky Scorched' Halloween event. Hunting costumed foes yields Mystery Candy, Spooky Treat Bags, and even legendary items. While the event is active, players can also obtain the Spooky Candy Bowl for free from the Atomic Shop and fill it with Mystery Candy for others to enjoy. C.A.M.P.s with candy bowls will be designated on the map with a pumpkin icon.

From November 7 through 21, Fallout 76 players may claim the free Birthday Suit from the Atomic Shop. Completing anniversary daily challenges and weekly challenges while wearing the suit will provide specific rewards. On November 14, Bethesda will host a special Fallout 76 birthday parade stream on Twitch. Viewers will be treated to giveaways of the Atom currency.
