Amazon confirmed yesterday that the Fallout TV series will air at some point next year on Prime Video. The series' creators also revealed that it will be set in Los Angeles, where Vault 33 is located.
The Fallout TV series was announced over three years ago to be in development by Westworld creators and couple Jonathan Nolan (who is also known for his work on acclaimed movies and shows like The Prestige, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, and Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (also credited for Reminiscence and The Peripheral).
The series began production last year and ended filming in March. It stars Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten as regular cast members. The show will feature an original story rather than an adaptation of any of the games that have been released.
At Gamescom 2023, fans who attended the Starfield theater presentation were also treated to the first trailer for the Fallout TV series. This trailer won't be officially published online, Bethesda's Todd Howard (who's also an executive producer on the show) confirmed.
However, IGN shared the content of the trailer, which apparently featured the Brotherhood of Steel marching in a dusty desert setting while their signature Vertibird vehicles hovered nearby; several nuclear explosions going off; Vault 33 opening; and a first look at a ghoul character (presumably Walton Goggins).
