With the announcement of Fable's release date during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Microsoft and Playground Games also opened pre-orders for the game. That's how we learned that a story-driven expansion titled Fable: Order of the Hero will arrive sometime after launch.
The developers described it as rich in a narrative that will immerse players in the mysteries of a sinister, ancient cult concealed within the treacherous allure of Albion. Fable: Order of the Hero introduces a fresh region teeming with peril, marvel, and murmurs of long-forgotten power. As players venture forth, their actions will garner the admiration of the cultists, elevating them to the status of their newest (and most remarkable) celebrity overseer. With this newfound power, they will steer their rituals and mold the cult according to the player's heroic ideals, whether they be virtuous, villainous, or simply eccentric. However, stepping into this leadership role raises a more ominous question. If the cult is seeking a new Heroic leader… what fate befell the previous one?
It certainly sounds like an intriguing premise. Order of the Hero will be included with the Premium Edition of Fable, which is priced at $99.99 and also includes five days of early access and the following items:
The Premium Edition Content Pack outfits your Hero with two distinctive cosmetic armor sets: the refined Splendid Armor and the unapologetically rugged Bastard Armor, each featuring matching footwear, legs, and torso pieces. You’ll also receive three of each of the following in‑game Gifts: Queen’s Bouquets, Bags of Offal, and Decadent Gold Leaf Bread—items that can be gifted to Albion’s living population to provoke admiration, disgust, or something romantically complicated.
By the way, the PC store pages now also list the game's minimum system requirements, which are fairly modest:

Fable is out on February 23, 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. It will, of course, be available via Game Pass and support Xbox Play Anywhere.
