Dragon Age: Inquisition Sequel Could Be in The Works
Dragon Age: Inquisition was the last title of the BioWare saga that hit the market in November 2014. It was also the most successful game launched by the company so far, in terms of sales.
After a long wait, it seems that BioWare will get down to work and bring back Dragon Age, as the series' creative director, Mike Laidlaw, has commented that "something is happening with Dragon Age," on The 1099 podcast.
Although Laidlaw preferred to keep all the details, it is confirmed that BioWare is already hiring people to take charge of the next title in the series.
"As I've jokingly said, I am the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise and they haven't fired me yet," he said during the 1099 podcast.
This should not surprise fans of the franchise because last year BioWare hired freelance writer Alexis Kennedy. Although the company refused to give an official position on the hiring, the writer said in May that he was working on a new title of Dragon Age. Many assumed we would see an announcement during E3 2017, but it was not the case. After all, E3 2017 was apparently all about Anthem.
During the podcast, Laidlaw also mentioned that BioWare is working on "other things" for which he avoided speaking for the moment. "There are other things in the process but unfortunately I can't talk about them until they are realized. I am pretty excited about a few of them. Things continue apace," he said.
After Dragon Age: Inquisition, almost three years have passed, more than enough time to announce a new canonical episode of the saga. E3 2018 seems a perfect candidate for a possible 2019 release.
For now, we just have to wait to know all about the surprises that BioWare is preparing for the next Dragon Age.
