iOS 13.4 Beta / iPadOS 13.4 Beta Arrives with Plenty of Under the Hood Changes for Better Stability and Performance

After floating iOS 13.3.1 / iPadOS 13.3.1 to the public just a short while back, Apple has stepped things up a notch and has released iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4 beta for both iPhone and iPad. The update is packed with some great news features which we are going to highlight momentarily. But first, we would like to inform our readers that this update is meant for developer-only, for now. If you are a non-developer, you can still download iOS 13.4 / iPadOS 13.4 beta onto your iPhone or iPad. It is just a simple case of grabbing hold of the iOS configuration profile and installing it on your iPhone and iPad. But before you do that, please backup everything using iCloud, Finder or iTunes. Once you are done, download the iOS configuration profile from this link and install it straight onto your device. You will be required to restart your iPhone or iPad, after which you can grab the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on Download and Install once the latest beta update shows up.

Remember, we highly recommend installing betas on devices which are spare. Here are the new features and updates found so far in iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4 beta 1, via MacRumors:

• Updated Mail app bottom toolbar, with the delete button moved to the left corner and reply button moved to the right corner.
• iCloud folder sharing is back again, hopefully for good. It allows iCloud folder sharing invitations to be sent from the Files app.
• New Memoji Sticker poses which include a shocked face, eye roll, praying hands and more. A total of 9 new poses are available for Memojis.
• Universal purchase is part of the new beta. This feature will allow developers to sell bundles of iOS, tvOS and macOS apps for a single price. The feature will be available for users when iOS 13.4 is released to public and developers implement bundle pricing.
• CarPlay has new call controls and third-party navigation controls.
• A new CarKey API will allow iPhone and Apple Watch to lock and unlock compatible cars, and even share the virtual keys with family members.
• Location services prompt has been modified so that when an app requests background location access, after being allowed 'While Using the App' location access, iOS will show the background location access request right away. This change is likely in response to complaints by Tile and others, which are being investigated by United States Justice Department.
• Shazam has its own Shortcut now.
