A new version of the popular DLSS swapping tool has just dropped, allowing users to replace older upscalers with the newer ones.
DLSS Swapper Adds Support for DLSS 4.5 Presets L and M, But Global DLSS Presets Might Not Apply for Them Right Now
If your game doesn't have the DLSS 4.5 support yet, you can simply use the tool called DLSS Swapper, which is probably the most popular DLSS swapping piece of software. The software has a simple interface and easily replaces older upscalers from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel with newer ones. Since DLSS 4.5 has been rolled out recently, users can now take advantage of the second-gen Transformer model.
The new version 1.2.3.1 was released yesterday, which brings both the L and M presets to improve the visual quality. We have already seen how the newer Transformer model improves the clarity noticeably compared to the previous Transformer-based DLSS 4.0. With both presets being available in the DLSS Swapper tool, users can enhance visuals based on their requirements, such as target resolution and frame rates.

Remember that DLSS 4.5 is much more demanding, and older GPUs are easily getting noticeable performance hits, but if you have the latest RTX 50 series GPUs and good VRAM capacity, the regressions will be much smaller. Nonetheless, one should keep in mind that both presets may not be applied using the Global presets in DLSS Swapper, which the developer calls an issue in the NVIDIA driver itself. As a result, these presets should be selected on a per-game basis.
Apart from adding support for DLSS 4.5, the new version also fixes many bugs and fixes the GameAsset enums for maintaining original compatibility.
