If you have not played Far Cry 3 on your previous-gen video game consoles, you surely have squandered a hell lot of fun that no other game can stipulate. Fry Cry 3 is considered to be the biggest video game title Ubisoft Montreal has ever worked on. Once again raining gems on its fans, Ubisoft has officially announced the successor video game to its open world first-person shooter title that never stop pleasing the players.
According to the announcement post on UbiBlog by Communications Manager Gary Steinman, Far Cry 4 will launch on almost all current major video game platforms including Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, there is no mention of the game releasing on Nintendo’s Wii U console. The game will launch in the US this year on November 18, while on November 20 the game will hit EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) territories.
Far Cry 4, according to the officials, is an open world first-person shooter just like its predecessors. But unlike lush green forests in Far Cry 3, the upcoming already most awaited game will be set in Kyrat, a fictional region of Himalayas that is administrated by a self-appointed ruthless king; looking at the game’s cover, he seems to be young in age with blond hair. Taking the effect from other Far Cry titles, Far Cry 4 will offer a variety of geographic features and wildlife related to the game’s exotic setting.
Five Ubisoft studios are currently working head-to-head on Far Cry 4: Montreal is the leading studio, while Red Storm, Toronto, Shanghai and Kiev are contributing in the development work. Below is what the official press release reads:
“Announced today, Far Cry 4 will release this year on November 18 in the US and November 20 in EMEA territories. The game will be available on both generations of consoles – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – along with Windows PC.
Taking a sharp turn away from the lush island jungles of the top-rated Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 is set in Kyrat, an untamed region currently ruled by a despotic self-appointed king. But don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by the achingly beautiful views; Kyrat is a wild land full of perils. Once again, players will be able to craft their own stories as they travel through this exotic open world teeming with wildlife – using their wits along with an assortment of powerful weapons and diverse vehicles.
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”
Development on Far Cry 4 is being led by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.
