According to recent reports, Apple plans to launch its first ever foldable iPhone next year, alongside the iPhone 18 lineup, marking the 20th anniversary. However, it appears that the company is overly excited about the forthcoming releases, as it has already started posting ads on its socials, but not for its foldable iPhone. That's right, Apple accidentally posted an ad on its Apple Support account on the Chinese social media platform, featuring Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Flip 7. The company soon realized what it had done and took prompt actions to remove it, but unfortunately for the company, the entire ordeal was recorded.
Apple accidentally promotes Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 on official support account, giving it free marketing amid foldable iPhone development chaos
The mishap took place from Apple’s China support account a few hours ago and IceUniverse was quick to record the entire thing, a leaker who is well-versed in sharing leaks related to Samsung flagships. A Chinese Apple Support Weibo account posted a promo trailer for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable and one can only imagine the boardroom panic. The most likely reason for the mistake is that both Apple and Samsung could apparently be sharing the same ad agency in China and possibly someone was confused. In other speculations, it could also be the work of a rogue Samsung fan pulling a prank under cover of Apple branding.

The entire ordeal is quite uncanny and ironic because Apple is ramping up development of its first foldable iPhone - and on top of that, it’s the worst possible time to accidentally promote a foldable smartphone, especially when it belongs to the company’s biggest rival. The mistake also raises serious questions about internal controls and potential outsourcing fails, which could cost the company to some extent. The internet had various reactions, including several polls that popped up immediately, citing if Apple's mistake was intentional and many found it funny to say "Yeah, seems like it."
Samsung just announced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which took the internet by storm with a new design and form factor. However, Apple has its own plans in store for its loyal customers, who are now expecting the first foldable iPhone to arrive in September of next year. As for the mistake, we would advise anyone handling social media accounts to double-check which ID they are logged into as it could hurt the agencies as well as the companies associated with them.
