ASRock Z77 Extreme6/TB4 Motherboard Detailed – Features 4 Channel Dual Port Thunderbolt

Thanks to ChipLoco, we now have a detailed look at ASRock's upcoming Z77 Extreme6/TB4 motherboard which is essentially a Extreme6 with 4 Channel Dual port Thunderbolt technology.

The Z77 Extreme6/TB4 comes with 4 Channel Thunderbolt which suggests that each port has two channels each and can transmit 10 GBps. The Dual ports can also be used as a display output through a special display port cable which would be supplied with the package.

Overall, the motherboard sticks to the Extreme6 motherboard specifications which include 8 + 4 Power Phase Design with Dual Channel memory support of DDR3 2800+(OC).

Expansion slots include 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slots, 1 x mini-PCI Express slot and four SATA III 6 Gb/s and four USB 3.0 ports. I/O includes  7.1 channel Realtek ALC898, Gigabit LAN, 7.1 Channel Audio and various display connectors. The Z77 Extreme6/TB4 launches next month.
