$99 AirPods Pro Case With USB-C Port

Apple is gradually switching from Lightning to USB-C port on all its devices and accessories. The company recently launched a new Apple Pencil with a USB-C port at the back, and now, it appears that the company has focused its attention on the AirPods Pro case. You can now buy a standalone AirPods Pro case with a USB-C port at the bottom for only $99 from the Apple Store and Apple's online store.

Apple is now selling a new standalone AirPods Pro case with a USB-C port for $99

Apple's USB-C transition began after the new iPhone 15 lineup was announced. The entire series features a USB-C port, including the standard models. Before the iPhone 15 series, USB-C port was only available on the iPads and MacBooks. However, the company is gradually offering the new standard on all its devices, including accessories.

If you own an AirPods Pro, you can make it USB-C compatible through a new case that Apple sells for $99. Apple will only ship the case, which will also have wireless charging capabilities. Additionally, if you proceed with the purchase, you will no longer have use for your current Lightning case. While it is not mandatory, Apple only provides users with ease, as a single cable will be required to charge all your products.

The Verge first discovered the listing, highlighting Apple's decision to switch from Lightning to USB-C. In September, Apple introduced the new AirPods Pro 2 at its September event. However, customers who already had the AirPods Pro 2 with a Lightning case did not have the option to upgrade to the new USB-C standard. Henceforth, Apple's latest offering is for those with a Lightning case.

The new USB-C AirPods Pro case offers better IP54 dust resistance alongside a USB-C port. Besides this, the upgrade will not bring design changes to the mix. Additionally, it also does not enhance the functionality of your AirPods Pro. For instance, the new lossless audio feature for Vision Pro will not be part of the mix. As mentioned, Apple will sell the new AirPods Pro USB-C case as a standalone accessory for $99. Additionally, if you are satisfied with your AirPods Pro charging case with a Lightning port, you do not need to upgrade to the latest version.
