Xiaomi Mi5s Camera Sample Shared – Stunning Quality With Surrounding Low Light

Xiaomi Mi5s is the name of the expected flagship that’s going to be unveiled in the near future. Being a flagship, Mi5s is expected to rock a higher-tier rear camera and recent rumors also suggest that the device will come touting a dual-camera setup. Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi has shared a camera sample taken from the Mi5s, and it’s thoroughly refreshing. Looks like dual-camera smartphones are going to have a ton of competition with this handset’s release.

Camera Sample and Image Details of Xiaomi Mi5s Shared – Judge the Image Quality Yourself and Be the Judge

The EXIF data reveals it was shot with the following details:

  • F/2.0 aperture
  • ISO 100
  • 1/750s shutter speed

Since a smartphone’s camera will have a fixed aperture, we’ll have to make do with the F/2.0 aperture. For a flagship phone, I was honestly expecting Mi5s to have a wider aperture since it would allow more light to enter and also, it would further separate the foreground from the background. I’ve been hearing rumors about the dual-camera, and I feel that it will be able to deliver DSLR-like-bokeh, so here’s to hoping that a high-end Chinese device does not disappoint us in the camera department.

The rest of the specifications include a Snapdragon 821. Since Mi5, the 5.15-inch flagship that was announced earlier this year came with a Snapdragon 820, it is only fitting that a more powerful SoC is found inside Mi5s. Just in case you didn’t know the specification details of Snapdragon 821, they have been listed below:

Snapdragon 820

  • CPU performance cluster: 2 x Kryo running at 2.2GHz
  • CPU power efficiency cluster: 2 x Kryo running at 1.6GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 530 running at 624MHz

Snapdragon 821

  • CPU performance cluster: 2 x Kryo running at 2.4GHz
  • CPU power efficiency cluster: 2 x Kryo running at 2.0GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 530 running at 650+MHz

The Mi5s is also expected to feature 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, along with a 5.7-inch QHD display. Previously leaked screenshots not only show that the device will sport Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chipset, but it will feature a decent 3,430mAh battery. Pricing is going to be the key factor here, and Mi5s is said to retail for $449. While that is cheap for an affordable flagship, keep in mind that this price will remain limited to China, and when it is shipped overseas, that price will immediately skyrocket.
