Verizon Is Appeasing Angry Pixel Customers With a Free Daydream View Headset
Getting your smartphone shipped to you after a series of delays is something that would annoy everybody and if you ordered one from Verizon, the carrier has something that will brighten your day and it comes in the form of a freebie. There’s no denying the job of receiving something without paying a dime for it and it appears that Verizon is attempting to thank customers for their patience by providing them a little token of appreciation.
Only a Small Percentage of Customers Who Ordered the Pixel From Verizon Are Being Given a Free Google Daydream View Headset
A thread on XDA Developers reports that some users were being contacted by Verizon on account that they were being sent a free headset:
“They’re sending free daydream views for our wait. Call them back if you missed the call. Seems legit as I didn’t have to give any info and he knew the activation date. Gonna return the one I got from BB.”
A different thread on Reddit covered the same topic, with a different user confirming the news:
“I’ve just confirmed this with a Verizon representative. They said it’s only affecting a small “subset” of customers that have been experiencing abnormal shipment delays on the Pixel.”
The carrier had contacted customers through a third-party phone service with the number (844) 340-4325. As per reports, customers who have missed the initial calls can claim their complimentary Daydream VR units by reaching Verizon at the above-mentioned number. If some customers have already purchased the headset to experience mobile VR, then Verizon has something else that will cheer you up. According to the account of some Daydream headset owners, Verizon has offered them $50 Play Store gift cards as an alternative but keep in mind that not everyone got the same treatment.
The Google Daydream View headset costs $79 on its own so getting it for absolutely no charge is definitely something that will put a smile on the customer’s face.
