The $30 Simplicity plan from Verizon might stand out from the pack as an enticing offer, but that’s because the carrier has hidden the details inside its fine print. In fact, since AI is all the rage these days, one customer actually decided to make use of the technology and concluded that Visible is the better option, as Simplicity is Verizon’s “too good to be true” carrier trap.
A plus point of sticking with Verizon Visible is that it doesn’t come with any hidden taxes, unlike Simplicity
A Visible customer on Reddit with the username “vege_spears” says that he’s sticking to his current plan because moving to Simplicity is going to introduce a torrent of headaches, not to mention that subscribers will be charged more and have to get features in return. However, his statement isn’t taken well by other commenters, who state that the $30 plan includes Hotspot and international roaming.
To be fair, what vege_spears has pointed out does make sense for the most part, as the $30 monthly amount from Simplicity is just a promotional offer and will only last for 36 months, or 3 years. After the promotional period has expired, subscribers will have to pay $45 per month per line, and that’s excluding taxes. You should also know that existing Verizon customers who plan on switching to Simplicity will have to pay $45 monthly right off the bat.
| Verizon Visible vs Simplicity differences | Visible | Simplicity |
|---|---|---|
| Price per line | $25 Base $45 Plus | $30 for new subscriber $45 for existing Verizon customers |
| Taxes | Included in price | Not Included |
| Hotspot | Unlimited 5Mbps limit on Base 10Mbps limit on Plus | 10GB at high speed, then reduced to 1Mbps |
| Video streaming | 480p | 720p |
| Network | Base: Deprioritized Plus: 50GB Priority Data, then Deprioritized | Full speed 5G, with Ultrawide-Band Priority for the first 500GB |
| Promos | None | None |
Sure, the 500GB data ceiling is massive for a single device, but even that can run out. When it does, your speeds will be throttled to a measly 4Mbps for the rest of the month. Also, in case you’re wondering, Verizon will remove any loyalty discounts that you have if you’ve come from an older plan to Simplicity.
For the majority of subscribers, Visible is a simple plan that doesn’t include any hidden fees and is the simplest offer for those who want the lowest monthly cost. Verizon customers who are still confused about which plan to switch to can leverage the use of AI, just like the Reddit user, or refer to our table above for more details.
