Special Performances

The show opened with the TGA orchestra performing the song "Une vie à t'aimer" from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a heavy hint at the game sweeping the floor with prizes.

Goth Rock/Metal band Evanescence later performed the song Afterlife from the Devil May Cry Netflix anime during this year's show.

The TGA orchestra also performed "Dr. Wily's Castle Theme" from Mega Man: Dual Override as part of that game's announcement. Finally, ahead of the Game of the Year announcement, they performed a medley that included bits taken from songs of all the nominees (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II).
