4:LOOP Is Left 4 Dead Creator’s New Tactical Coop Game; Playtest Signup Now Available

Mike Booth and JJ Abrams from Bad Robot Games unveiled 4:LOOP, a new sci-fi tactical coop game. Playtest signup is now available on PC and PS5.

Following the recent announcement, Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth stepped on The Game Awards 2025 stage alongside JJ Abrams from Bad Robot to unveil 4:LOOP, the studio's new tactical cooperative game.

The setting is an alien invasion on Earth, with a mad scientist type narrating the reveal trailer to tell players he'd be able to continuously resurrect them as they die again and again until they find a way to fix the world.

4:LOOP can now be wishlisted on both PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5, and the official website lets interested players sign up for upcoming playtesting opportunities. Even on PC, the game will be published by Sony.

Created by Mike Booth and the interactive storytellers at Bad Robot Games, 4:LOOP is a tactical, four-player co-op shooter crafted for endless replayability and infinite ways to build the ultimate team. Together, if you can learn from your mistakes, you might just fail to save the world.
