The Phantom Blade Zero release date for PC and PlayStation 5 was finally announced today

Phantom Blade Zero is an action game that garnered quite a bit of attention when it was announced in 2023. Featuring dark aesthetics and a blend of Chinese martial arts and steampunk, Soul's war against The Order seemed one worthy experiencing right from the set, showing significant improvements on each showing, especially in the Gamescom 2025, where I felt the game was polished enough to be ready for an imminent release. And today, we have finally learned when this impressive action game will launch on PC and PlayStation 5.

A new trailer shown during today's The Game Awards confirmed Phantom Blade Zero will launch on September 9, 2026 on PC and PlayStation 5. The long wait since the game's announcement appears to have been well worth it, as it continues to look impressively engaging and brutal, boasting some of the best animations in action games and high-speed combat.

Personally, I am excited to finally play Phantom Blade Zero in a few months, as I have always found the game to be excellent, even in its early state, as showcased in the Gamescom 2024 demo.

A few months back, I was able to try out the game again, as mentioned above, and found it to have been improved further, combining solid level and enemy encounter design, with some spectacular boss battles. You can learn more about what made the latest demo such a joy to play in my Phantom Blade Zero hands-on preview.
